The Colorado Rockies’ general manager, Jeff Bridich, has refused to use the word, but let’s get real: is this club in the middle of a full re-build?

More from Colorado Rockies News

The Colorado Rockies are limping to the finish line one more time, set to end up dead last in the National League West for yet another season as they’ve shown no significant improvement over the past several seasons.

Now, they have a new general manager in Jeff Bridich, who is just finishing his first season at the helm, and he’s giving interviews about what he sees in the future for the Rockies.

He’s been hesitant to use the rebuild word in the past, and he’s been pretty non-committal to keeping or firing Walt Weiss, among other things.

That’s all fine, of course. Bridich has every right to play his cards close to the vest, and he owes the media absolutely nothing — especially when a radio interview asks him about his team’s future when they are nearly 30 games under .500 with two weeks left to go in the season. (Weird booking job, producers.)

But for our purposes, I’d rather know what you guys think right now, as we will soon see Bridich lay down his cards on the table this winter.

Is he going to re-build the Rockies from the ground up, and finish what this club started when Troy Tulowitzki was traded? Will he do the patented Dan O’Dowd thing where the needle never moves and the true re-build never gets acknowledged?
