The Rockies are back at Coors Field!

Besides the delays getting into the stadium because of the new metal detectors, doesn’t it feel damn good to be watching baseball in Colorado again?

Here are some cool, interesting, fun, informative links about Rockies baseball for you wonderful, beautiful people:

LaTroy Hawkins and John Axford are pretty cool veterans.

Cool info from Grantland about how veterans treat rookies and pay it forward (one shopping spree at a time). Hawkins gives some insight into what it was like playing with Kirby Puckett, Torii Hunter, and Johan Santana, and what he tries to do with rookies at every stop he’s had in the big leagues. He’s a class act.

The Colorado Rockies have the most underrated lineup in baseball.

So says Grant Brisbee at SB Nation. We knew that already but, um, we’re biased, so it’s cool to see some other folks start to connect the dots on what could be a good Rockies team.

But, Brisbee cautions (accurately) that it comes down to health and just-good-enough pitching. And how they play on the road. And adjusting from Coors Field.

But mostly health. Stay in the lineup, Tulo and CarGo. PLEASE STAY IN THE LINEUP.

Metal detectors are now a thing, please get to the games early.

There was discussion of this on Twitter during the game, and you’ve probably already seen something or other about this if you’re in Denver (or any big league city), but don’t forget. Get to the games early (you know, while the club is still popular?), and don’t get caught outside the stadium for first pitch!

How close were the Mets to acquiring Troy Tulowitzki?

Not close. Not close at all. And this has been today’s Troy Tulowitzki trade rumor talk. But still, it’s an interesting (linked) podcast in there, if you’ve got the time.
