Colorado Rockies pitcher today: Ryan Feltner

More from Colorado Rockies News

Feltner, the 25-year-old Ohio State University product who was a fourth-round pick by the Rockies in the 2018 draft, has never pitched above Double-A. However, his time in Hartford was successful this season, posting a 5-2 mark with a 2.85 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 13 starts.

That was part of a 2021 minor league season that saw him compile an 8-3 record and 2.62 ERA with 40 walks and 125 strikeouts in 20 starts between Hartford and High-A Spokane.

In his last Double-A start against Harrisburg, Feltner allowed two runs on eight hits with one walk and eight strikeouts over 5.2 frames of work.

Colorado Rockies vs. Atlanta Braves prediction

How Feltner will perform in his MLB debut is anyone’s guess. Morton, however, is coming off a month where he posted a 2.83 ERA in 35.0 innings and walked seven while striking out 46. Opponents hit just .192 against him and he posted a 0.89 WHIP.

On paper, Atlanta certainly holds an advantage, but Colorado’s prowess at Coors Field (45-23 this season, the fourth-best winning percentage at home in MLB) can often tilt the scales.

Will this be yet another one-run game between the two teams? Atlanta won the first game by a 6-5 score before Colorado recorded 4-3 and 7-6 victories.
