As the Colorado Rockies prepare to open a three-game weekend series in Cincinnati against the Reds, let’s take a look at some of the news and notes involving the team.

Here are some news and notes regarding the Colorado Rockies.

Vaccination appointments

According to a release, the Rockies and UCHealth will have vaccinations available to those in the Denver area at Coors Field during the Rockies’ next homestand, which begins on Monday as the San Diego Padres come to town.

As further incentive to take part in the vaccination opportunity, those who receive a vaccination will be given a voucher that is redeemable for two tickets to a Rockies game.

Note: On June 15 and 18, those receiving a vaccination will be given a choice between two tickets to that night’s game, or a voucher for two tickets to a future game. On June 19, those receiving a vaccination will be given a voucher redeemable for two tickets to a future game.

Vaccination opportunities are as follows:

Tuesday, June 15, 5:30-8:30 p.m. — UCHealth bus parked on Blake Street in front of Coors Field

Friday, June 18, 5:30-8:30 p.m. — UCHealth bus parked on Blake Street in front of Coors Field

Larry Walker gets his day in September

Suddenly, September is going to be a busy month for former Colorado Rockies outfielder Larry Walker.

With a shuffling of schedules, the Baseball Hall of Fame will now officially induct Walker on September 8, making him the first-ever Rockies player to gain baseball immortality in Cooperstown.

The Hall of Fame’s induction ceremony move to September 8 means that the celebration for Walker at Coors Field, originally scheduled for August 21, will now take place on September 25. On that day, Walker will be honored in pregame ceremonies and see his jersey number (33) officially retired by the Rockies.
