The Colorado Rockies will welcome some of their biggest crowds of the season early next week when fireworks are scheduled to light up the night sky after Colorado’s game concludes.

For the 2019 season, the Colorado Rockies have designated July 2 and July 3 (both games against the Houston Astros at 6:10 p.m.) and September 27 against the Milwaukee Brewers at 6:10 p.m. as “fireworks games.” As a scheduling oddity, the Rockies are actually off this season on July 4.

As this will be the only time some fans see the Rockies this season at Coors Field, here are some helpful hints on what to expect.

Gate times and locations

As a point of reference, Coors Field has five lettered gates for entry. They are Gate A (Section 105, behind bullpens, right center field), Gate B (Section 111, right-field corner, 22nd and Blake Streets), Gate C (Section 122, first base, 21st and Blake Streets), Gate D (Section 130, home plate, 20th and Blake Streets) and Gate E (Section 147, left-field corner, Wynkoop Walkway).

Also, this year there is an exclusive entry for Guests with Suite or Mountain Ranch Club tickets. This entry is located on Blake Street between Gate B and the Diamond Dry Goods Store.

Gates A and E will open two hours prior to game time (4:10 p.m. for fireworks games) for those wanting to watch batting practice. Gates B, C and D will open 90 minutes prior to game time (4:40 p.m. for fireworks games).

Parking

With construction going on around the stadium, it’s important to know where to park and what time to arrive.

According to the Rockies, there are 4,390 spaces on-site at Coors Field. Gameday parking is available in Lot A for $20-$25 and Lot B for $18-$23. RV and bus parking is available for $30 at Park Avenue West (22nd) and Wazee Streets, as well as 27th and Blake Streets. Fans can purchase parking passes any time in advance at the Coors Field ticket windows. Additionally, all parking entrances accept cash or credit cards.

Coors Field parking lots open 2.5 hours prior to game time (3:40 p.m. for fireworks games).
