The Colorado Rockies have spent most of the young 2019 season waiting for players to come back. Many of those players were returning from early-season injuries. But beyond the injuries, fans were also waiting out the return of the team’s superstars who were unrecognizable while mired in a collective slump until a little over a week ago.

Well, Colorado Rockies fans can rest easy. Although he didn’t look like himself through the first few weeks of the season, I think its safe to say now that Nolan Arenado is back.

Since he hit his first home run of the season on April 14 in the game where the Rockies finally turned things around, he is hitting .313 with an 1.121 OPS, 4 home runs and 8 RBI. On April 22, he hit a go-ahead home run in the late innings for his 1,000th career hit and then proceeded to make an outstanding defensive play to end the game.

It was a familiar sight for Rockies fans … and one that they will likely see several more times this season. While the Rockies got several key contributions up and down the roster, including a great game from Mark Reynolds, it just felt like Arenado went out and won that game by himself.

Arenado snapped out of his slump over a week ago, but it was that game when he announced to the baseball world that he is back for the 2019 season.

Recently, the guys at Blake Street Ball discussed Arenado’s milestone and Chad Bettis‘ new role out of the bullpen. Click below to listen.

With the new contract Arenado signed in the offseason, Rockies fans will have plenty of more opportunities to see him collect milestones for several years to come.
