The Colorado Rockies have been besieged by injuries early in the season. However, it appears the Rockies may be getting two of their offensive weapons back just in time for a big homestand starting on Thursday night.

According to a tweet from Thomas Harding of MLB.com, Ryan McMahon and David Dahl have returned to Denver just in time for the Colorado Rockies to open a seven-game homestand against the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday night. Both have been on the injured list and have been key missing pieces to a Rockies offense that struggled until a recent two-game series in San Diego.

Harding said in his tweet that, if their evaluations go as planned, both Dahl and McMahon are expected to come off the injured list in time for Thursday’s series opener against the Phillies.

McMahon has been on the injured list since April 6 with a left elbow sprain he suffered in a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 25 at-bats, the versatile infielder had posted a .200/.310/.280 slash line with a pair of doubles.

Dahl, meanwhile, went on the injured list on April 9 with a core injury on his left side. He started the season as Colorado’s hottest hitter, posting a .343/.385/.629 slash line with two homers and six RBI. He also had two doubles and a triple, helping him total 22 bases in Colorado’s first 10 games of the season.

With a 6-12 record through their first 18 games, Colorado entered Wednesday’s off day 26th in Major League Baseball with a .210 team batting average. However, the team scored a season-high eight runs on 12 hits in Tuesday night’s 8-2 win over San Diego. Nolan Arenado has three home runs during Colorado’s three-game winning streak, helping the Rockies grab some momentum heading back to Coors Field for four games against the Phillies and three against the Washington Nationals.

Of course, if Dahl and McMahon are activated, the Rockies will need to make a pair of corresponding moves in order to add them to the active roster.
