Once again, FanSided (the parent company of Rox Pile) has released its Fandom 250 ranking. Once again, Colorado Rockies fans have been overlooked in those rankings.

In this year’s Fandom 250 rankings, there are nine Major League Baseball fan bases represented, including Colorado’s division rivals in San Francisco (#204 on the list) and Los Angeles (#130 on the list). The highest-ranking MLB fan base belongs to the World Champion Boston Red Sox, who came in #3 on the entire list. Despite making the National League Division Series, having one of the game’s top players in Nolan Arenado and (as we know) one of the most passionate and loyal fan bases around, the Colorado Rockies were once again not included in the rankings.

As a note, the Fandom 250 list spotlights the most zealous fan bases in sports, entertainment, celebrities, brands and more. If you want to see how the measurements for fan bases are made, here’s some insight into the scoring process. By the way, this year’s top overall fan base went to the NFL’s Cleveland Browns.

And, before you ask Rockies fans, the Denver Broncos were on the list, coming in at #152 (18th among NFL franchises in the Fandom 250).

So what is it about the Rockies fan base that keeps getting overlooked nationally? Maybe it’s the same as Rockies players who are overlooked nationally year after year. Who knows, maybe Colorado fans are penalized for cheering at altitude. Perhaps the voters think that your yells and versions of “TONIIIIIIIGHT” travel further at altitude. Curses, it’s the Coors Field effect yet again!

In all honesty, we know the love that Rockies fans have for their team. We see every day on social media (especially Rockies Twitter) just how passionate Colorado fans are regarding every offseason decision and on-the-field play made by their team.

Our advice? Keep cheering. Keep showing up as you always do at Coors Field (by the way, FanSided voters, Colorado ranked seventh in terms of average home attendance last year, ahead of four of the other teams on your list). Keep voicing your opinion on social media. We’re listening. We hear you … and we’re glad to be bringing you in-depth coverage of the team you love.

Here’s to you, Rockies fans. No matter the rankings, in our eyes, you’re the best in the business.
