This guy is a great reliever to have in your bullpen. Doolittle is a southpaw that is needed in the Rockies arsenal. Last year, he split his time with two teams, but that didn’t change anything. He finished out the season with a 2.81 ERA, 24 saves, and 62 strikeouts in the 51.1 innings he pitched. This is the type of setup man the Rockies should have next to Bryan Shaw and behind Wade Davis.
I love the idea of a reunion for the Nats with Desmond. I really, really love how that will open up the payroll. I believe Iannetta will be traded sometime in July so that Tony Wolters can take over and Pat Valaika would be more so a gift for taking Desmond in the trade.
With Sean Doolittle in the arsenal, the Rockies bullpen would be unstoppable.
