The Colorado Rockies are now done with a long home stand — one where they didn’t find a ton of success while facing three good-to-decent teams in the Padres, Nationals, and Mets.
Now, they’ll get the opportunity to go back on the road, facing an ice-cold Atlanta Braves team this week before heading to Pittsburgh this weekend to face a very good ball club that’ll almost surely be in the playoffs come October.

Series Keys For The Rockies
What are we even playing for any more?
Ok, but no, really… the Rockies aren’t playing for anything any more. How do you do series keys when nothing really matters at this point?
I hope this isn’t too existential, or doesn’t drive too fine a point home about how bad the team is, but… they’re really bad. At this point, you’re really only playing the spoiler against good clubs, and since you’ve just seen two good clubs and one halfway-decent one at home — and lost seven of those nine games while not even being competitive in most — what’s left to say?
The last few weeks are going to be pretty tough to watch as a competitive Rockies fan, but will still be fun because baseball is fun… or something.
Yeah, either way, I gotta be honest: I have absolutely no hope for this series, or this road trip, with how the Rockies have been playing lately. Prove me wrong though, fellas! I’m always down for some wins.
