Torii Hunter‘s epic meltdown on the field the other night is one for the ages, and fortunately, it was captured via photo (above), video, and everything else (Vine? Tweet?) for posterity. The Internet is forever, Torii… we will all remember that moment you stripped down on the field to protest a bad call.

Torii aside, here are a few links from around baseball as the Colorado Rockies prepare to take on the Miami Marlins for game two of the clubs’ four-game series in south Florida. We’ll see you later this evening for the game, and everything therein.

This was done before the game in Miami on Thursday, so the Rockies entered in at 26th from last week……. and stayed 26th. How? Hey man, I’m not saying the Rox are in the top 20, but after taking two of three from the Cardinals and winning 12 of 18, they’ve gotta be top 25, at least. It’s gonna be a damn long season in Denver… at least give me that.

‘No shenanigans,’ but Royals fans are overlooking a few good All-Stars (FOX Sports).
That’s a good look at the Kansas City Royals, and the American League All-Star Team voting brouhaha that’s erupted with seven Royals likely to start in the All-Star Game. It also links out to the Wikipedia page about the 1957 All Star Game, when more vote tampering occurred among the fans of the Cincinnati Reds. If you haven’t seen this one yet… Torii gives a pretty solid meltdown after a bad call. The thing that makes me the happiest about this is that players (and managers) still do this kind of stuff. When boring ol’ instant replay was introduced to the game, it looked like it was going to cut out most all of the fun and ridiculous arguments that happen between players and coaches, and umps — and thus far, it mostly has done just that. At least Torii proved we can still have fun with an ejection at the ballpark.
