We’ve got tangible Internet evidence that the Colorado Rockies are in first place! Forget that there’s 161 games left, OK? Just let us have this one, just this once, and we’ll never ask for anything ever again.

The Colorado Rockies are in first place! And undefeated! And we have scored the most runs in baseball! And we’ve given up the least runs!

We have the best pitchers, and the best hitters! We’re dominant, outscoring our opponents by ten runs a game. WILL THIS TEAM EVER LOSE?!

What’s that? It was only one game? There’s 161 left?

Oh.

Well in that case… broadcaster Drew Goodman‘s home run call is probably applicable here: “take a good look, you won’t see it for long!”

Look, haters, we know how this is going to go down this summer. This team can’t play all year with the Dodgers (most likely). So just let us have this one, for once?

Oh and best believe, if the Rockies win this evening in Milwaukee, and go 2-0?! World Series trips all around, friends. Might as well figure out your ring sizes now.

Anyways, I’ll try to contain my optimism. Life is good, ya know?

Rockies. Brewers. More baseball! Tonight at 6:10 pm. Join us on Twitter for the fun.
