If you couldn’t tell, we hadn’t been posting a ton of content today. It’s the All Star Break! The Colorado Rockies didn’t even do anything today!
But seriously, it was kind of nice to enjoy a day with not much to do. That’ll all get back to normal on Friday, of course — and actually, later this week you should keep watching out because we are going to have a ton of midseason content — player grades, team grades, MLB evaluations, etc. It’ll be fun.
In the meantime, enjoy a few links here, and watch out tomorrow and the next couple days for some good All Star Break content.
All Star Game evolution (Rukkus).
So here’s a cool thing. I’m going to put up a longer post on this later today, but this is kind of a neat interactive map of All Stars spanning generations, from the 1930s to 2015. Worth a few minutes to play around!
Purple Dino Podcast #51: Tulo and Luther Hackman (PDP/Purple Row).
Another PDP is up! Lots of prospect discussion in this round, with debate on Raimel Tapia and Jon Gray, and Anthony and Tyler are joined by Ryan Parker from Baseball Prospectus.
Ask us anything! (Purple Row).
This was kind of a cool thing the PR guys did yesterday. Since there wasn’t any baseball to be had on Monday (well, until the home run derby last night), PR did an informal AMA, or “ask me anything” about the Rockies and more. Worth a look to see how off-topic us bloggers can get.
RCSNY episode 10: chicks dig the long ball (Rockies Zingers).
More podcasts! Jake Shapiro and the guys discuss prospects, too, but also have a section on Walt Weiss. Woof.
That’s all for now. Like I said up top, lots of half-way-there-it’s-the-all-star-break content coming your way in the next couple days, and then back to the grind of the usual season stuff on Friday!
