DENVER – Colorado Rockies manager Bud Black spoke with Rox Pile on the field at Coors Field before Sunday’s series finale with the Atlanta Braves and he provided some injury updates on his players.

Black told the media postgame on Saturday that the team is considering giving starter Germán Márquez an extra day of rest before his next start.

If things go as planned and Márquez does get an extra day of rest, Black told Rox Pile on Sunday that Rockies starter Jon Gray (right forearm tightness) will “potentially” start for the Rockies on Wednesday in the series finale against the San Francisco Giants.

Gray threw three simulated innings on the mound at Coors Field. He faced Rockies outfielder Sam Hilliard, infielder Rio Ruiz, and catcher Dom Nuñez in those innings. Black said that Gray felt great after the sim game and he was still feeling great today.
