We are always looking for ways to expand our coverage of the Colorado Rockies and we think it is great for fans to always get different perspectives on the team.

With that in mind, we are happy to announce that we are working with the Subreddit for the Colorado Rockies on a weekly podcast where their members will share some of their thoughts on the team, the season and a variety of other topics.

Called “Rockpile Talkpile,” this week’s episode deals with topics such as mass start speed skating (it is the season for the Olympics, right?), the superpen and bullpen stats, the improbability of signing J.D. Martinez, and the always interesting PECOTA projections. You can click here to listen to this week’s Subreddit podcast.

More from Rox Pile

If you aren’t familiar with Reddit or what a Subreddit might be, this week’s hosts and guests explain a bit about what it means at the very start of the podcast. They also talk about the relationship we are building.

At around the 7:15 mark, the group dives into a big discussion on the Colorado bullpen, including a look at some of the statistics that show how Wade Davis actually had a better season last year than Greg Holland. Will that translate to this season with Davis now pitching at 20th and Blake? Rockies fans certainly hope that’s the case.

As we all know, Colorado’s fan base is one of the most passionate in all of Major League Baseball. Just check out Rockies Twitter on a game night and you will see plenty of reactions to what is going on and analysis of the game. At Rox Pile, we believe strongly in giving the fan a voice in what is happening with his or her team while we add in our own opinions and analysis.
