For the Colorado Rockies, Sunday’s 8-4 victory over the San Diego Padres at Petco Park was monumental for a number of reasons. In fact, let’s look at some of the numbers that stand out from Sunday’s big win.

41 – In terms of history, the win gave Colorado its 41st road win of the season. That ties the 2009 team for the most road victories in franchise history. Colorado finishes the regular season at 41-40, just like the 2009 squad finished its regular season.

6 – The Rockies finished the season with a 6-4 record at Petco Park. That marks their first winning season in San Diego since going 5-4 in 2013. Additionally, Colorado’s six wins are the most in San Diego since also winning six in 2011.

2.52 – That is the earned run average for Colorado’s starters over the last nine games. During that stretch, they have allowed 14 runs in 50 innings.

1 – On Sunday, German Marquez earned his first victory since August 18 against Milwaukee.

36 – That’s the number of home runs hit by Rockies leadoff man Charlie Blackmon, including a solo blast in the ninth inning of Sunday’s game that was part of back-to-back long balls from Pat Valaika and Chuck Nazty which sealed the win. Those 36 homers are the third-most by any leadoff hitter in Major League Baseball history.

28 – This number represents the number of games that DJ LeMahieu has hit safely in over his last 31 games. During that stretch from August 23, Colorado’s All-Star second baseman is hitting .315.

2 – That is the number of games that the Rockies lead over the Brewers for the second National League Wild Card slot. With the Arizona Diamondbacks clinching the NL Wild Card home field advantage on Sunday, Colorado now simply has to focus on playing to get into the postseason and pay a return trip to the desert.

5 – The number five represents the elimination number for both the Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals (who trail the Rockies by 2.5 games heading into Monday).
