Colorado Rockies announce 2018 preliminary schedule
On Tuesday, the Colorado Rockies announced the preliminary schedule for the 2018 season. Although the 2017 season is far from over, it is never too early to begin looking ahead to next season.
The 2018 season will mark the 25th season of Rockies baseball in Denver. It will kick off on March 29 in Arizona, while the campaign at home will begin on April 6 against Atlanta. The Rockies have unveiled a special 25th anniversary logo that will be used in numerous ways next season, including merchandise that will be available in November.
As for interleague play next year, the Rockies will welcome Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Angels in early May for two games and Houston, Oakland, and Seattle during a three-week stretch near the All-Star break next year. The National League West and American League West will do battle next season in interleague action.

Speaking of the All-Star Break, that will happen July 16-19 with the big game coming on July 17 in Washington, D.C.. July 3 and 4 (against the San Francisco Giants) and September 28 (against the Washington Nationals) will be the firework nights for next season.
While we are talking about the Nationals, the Rockies will finish the year at home next year against Washington on September 30. The Rockies finish the year at home against Philadelphia and Washington, the only two non-NL West opponents for the team in the last month of the season. Yes, like the 2017 season, September is riddled with division foes for Colorado, which should set up intriguing and important matchups as the season winds down (much like this season).
