Colorado Rockies: Some World Series-Themed News and Notes
With the weekend winding down and the World Series matchup officially set, here are some news and notes on the Colorado Rockies.
An edge over the National League champions
The Chicago Cubs finally made it back to the World Series with their emotional Game 6 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday night at Wrigley Field. The newly crowned National League champions only lost two regular-season matchups during the 2016 campaign.
So who were those two teams? The New York Mets won their season series over the Cubs by taking five of seven games. The other team to get the best of the Cubs in 2016? The Rockies, who won four of six meetings against Chicago’s North Siders.
The Rockies outscored the Cubs 30-26 and took two of three games in Chicago in April and at Coors Field in August.
While the Rockies didn’t make the playoffs this season, they can at least say they got the best of the National League’s best team in 2016.

World Series winner coming to Coors in 2017
No matter which team wins the 2016 World Series, the Rockies will host the new World Champions in 2017.
The Cubs will make their annual pilgrimage to the Mile High City on May 8-10 while the Cleveland Indians pay a visit to Coors Field on June 6-7.
Some Rockies-themed Halloween ideas
Early next week, ghosts and goblins will be wandering throughout the streets looking for plenty of treats (and hopefully not dishing out too many tricks).

Of course, I’m a big fan of the Charlie Blackmon pumpkin. Seeing Chuck Nazty’s beard is always great. Seeing it light up on a big pumpkin takes it to a whole new level.
