Let’s Meet The Reds

We haven’t seen the Reds since a little more than a month ago, when the Rockies went into Cincinnati and surprised everybody with a series win. Let’s get to know the club and what’s been going on in Cincy over the most recent week or two:

The latest Mike Leake trade rumors (Blog Red Machine).
Get caught up on how the Reds are approaching one trade deadline decision (even though we won’t see this pitcher during the series) as the July 31 date and a probably significantly different Reds roster looms.

Should Jay Bruce be traded? (Blog Red Machine).
More Reds rumors! The Reds are in kind of a weird place — they very well might have a fire sale in the next week, but I suppose they could not have a fire sale, too. Either way, there’s a few guys they should get rid of on expiring contracts.

All Star Week in Cincinnati: a truly incredible experience (Blog Red Machine).
A fun rundown of how the All Star Game went for the Reds this year, which is always a pretty cool thing for the host city to have. It was a helluva week for them, with a helluva home run derby by Todd Frazier!

The Reds may have overplayed their hand with Johnny Cueto (Red Reporter).
So it’s a pretty damn stressful time to be on the Reds, to cover the Reds, to follow the Reds. I’m getting stressed just reading these things. Tick tock, tick tock.

Deadline Schmeadline – Reds links July 23 (Red Reporter).
Ok so here’s a few Reds pieces and links not about the deadline, which is probably a damn good call. You deserve at least a little non-deadline talk, right?

Aaaaand… here we go. The Rockies take on a team they have a good recent history with beginning tonight! Who’ll be watching along with us?!
