Let’s Meet The Angels

I refuse to call this team the “Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim” (I know, I did up top, but that was to make fun of them). It’s dumb. You’re either the Los Angeles Angels or the Anaheim Angels. Hell, go back to being the California Angels. But don’t do this, Arte Moreno.

Anyways, we spoke to the guys at Halo Hangout about these Angels way back in April, so if you are curious or forgot, you should click here to see that series preview.

Beyond that, here are a few important things you need to know about the Rockies, and the Angels, as of Tuesday afternoon:

Breakdowns of every possible Angels trade (Halo Hangout).
This is a fun post. Even though the Angels are in contention (or because of it), they can get a lot of pieces moving in hypothetical trades over the next couple months. No Rockies mentioned here, but the Angels could get busy — especially now that general manager Jerry Dipoto resigned and the front office has shaken itself up a bit.

Angels GM Jerry Dipoto resigns (Halo Hangout).
Oh yeah, about Jerry. He’s a former Rockies pitcher, so maybe….? Nah. I mean, they couldn’t, could they? The Rockies just got this guy Jeff Bridich, he’s new, and… nah. They’d never. The Monforts are loyal to a fault. They couldn’t possibly switch out… or make Jerry… nah. Never mind.

Albert Pujols is an All Star, will start in place of Miguel Cabrera (Halo’s Heaven).
Albert Pujols will join Mike Trout at the All Star Game, with both starting for the American League.

Oh, great. The Angels are getting hot at the very worst time as far as the Rockies are concerned. Great! A good team comes to town. Just what the Rockies need coming back from a long and brutal road trip.

Either way, Angels and Rockies — first game goes off at 6:40 pm Tuesday night, followed by a 6:40 pm Wednesday night affair. See you guys tonight for the abbreviated interleague series!
