Dan O’Dowd and Bill Geivett stepped down from their respective posts on Wednesday morning. Predictably, there were a number of outstanding reactions to that news on Twitter from those who care about the Colorado Rockies.

Call to the Pen
Just think: when you went to bed last night, Dan O’Dowd was still the general manager of the Colorado Rockies…or the co-general manager, or whatever, but the point is, the same guy was in charge of the Rockies who had been in charge of the Rockies for the past 15 years.
Less than 24 hours later, and everything has changed. O’Dowd and Bill Geivett are out, Jeff Bridich is in. We waited 15 years for a regime change, and then before you even knew what happened, it was done with before lunch time.
Predictably, there was much rejoicing from Rockies’ fans at the news of the day.
Merry Christmas, Rockies fans!

Dan O'Dowd is stepping down! So excited it's like the Rockies just won the World Series!!

Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss Dan O'Dowd and Geivett out!!! #FINALLY #rockies

Then, once the hiring of Bridich was answered, there were some more guarded reactions.
The #Rockies are boring even when making changes to the front office. No external search at all? Not even going to entertain that idea?

Curious why the Rox would make the move today. Wonder if DOD or Geivett had something lined up if they were ousted, and needed a decision.

What it all boils down to is this: if Dick Monfort continues to interject himself in baseball ops, they're screwed no MATTA who the GM is.

And there were those who wanted to be reasonable and acknowledge the limited good that these two did for the organization. To the surprise of nobody, these reactions were harder to find.
Dan Odowd and Bill Givett drafted me and gave me opportunities that have changed my life.I'm very grateful for them,I wish them all the best

Finally, let’s not forget that the Rockies are still going to do Rockies things, even when announcing a new general manager.
The Rockies explicitly refused media availability for Dick Monfort after this presser. Amazing.
