The Rockies crushed five home runs on their way to a 14-7 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday afternoon.
One of those home runs was a three-run shot off the bat of Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar, who's looking to bounce back in 2026 after an injury-plagued 2025.
Tovar crushed a 3-2 slider from Cubs left-hander Caleb Thielbar—middle-away—over the fence in left-center to give the Rockies a commanding 8-0 lead.
Speaking of home runs, how about Mickey Moniak making his spring training debut and launching the first pitch he saw over the fence in right field.
Moniak is looking to replicate his 2025 season as he'll likely be featured in a platoon role at DH with occasional starts in the outfield.
T.J. Rumfield, who's auditioning to be the Rockies' everyday first baseman, joined the home run party by belting two solo shots of his own.
