Colorado's prospects continue building their case as the team racked up 16 hits in their win over San Francisco.

It's time to invest into some Charlie Condon stock if you haven't already.

Colorado's No. 2 prospect according to MLB.com continues building his case for the Opening Day roster.

He went 2-for-2 with a walk and crushed a solo home run in the fourth inning off Giants left-hander Reiver Sanmartin, driving what appeared to be a sinker over the right field fence.

With that performance, his spring average now sits at .600.

Speaking of buying stock, T.J. Rumfield followed up yesterday's two-home run performance with another two-run shot today as he continues his push for a spot on Colorado's Opening Day roster.

He's another player to monitor this March as Colorado searches for their next first baseman.

Rockies No. 14 prospect Gabriel Hughes delivered another strong performance in the late innings, tossing two frames while allowing just two hits and recording one strikeout.

Colorado scored three runs in consecutive innings during the fifth and sixth, fueled by solo home runs from Chad Stevens and Ryan Ritter.

Rockies No. 20 prospect Welinton Herrera closed out the ninth with a scoreless inning, striking out two batters.

News and notes from Colorado's 11-3 win over San Francisco

  • I'm convinced Colorado's No. 2 prospect Cole Carrigg isn't human at this point because he continues to rake while ramping up his play for the World Baseball Classic starting on March 5. He went 2-for-3 with two singles, an RBI, and a run scored with his average sitting at .500 for the spring.
  • Kyle Karros' only hit was a 108.1 MPH triple to center field that drove in Jordan Beck in the second inning.
  • Jake McCarthy, who I expect will be Colorado's everyday left fielder, went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in the sixth inning.
  • Brett Sullivan, a catcher who signed a minor league deal with Colorado in December, went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in the win.
  • Victor Vodnik struggled again in his one inning of work, giving up two runs on five hits, including a solo home run to Heliot Ramos.
