Future Colorado Rockies: New Britain Rock Cats August 12 Update

The Colorado Rockies’ Eastern League affiliate is down to their last couple of weeks in New Britain, before moving on to Hartford for 2016.

The Hartford Yard Goats are already lining up sponsorships, so you know the clock is ticking for the poor New Britain Rock Cats.

But no, really — the Hartford (the insurance company?) is going to sponsor the Hartford Yard Goats.

Oh, yay.

Anyways, there was exciting stuff to go on this week, too… on the field. To wit:

The last week (2-4): The Rock Cats had kind of a tough week, including being swept in a road series by the Reading Fightin’ Phils after finishing up their homestand on a strong note.

The Phils would snatch all three games from New Britain, though, and send the Rock Cats back to Connecticut with an oh-fer on the short trip. Now, the Cats have Trenton and Binghamton at home for six this upcoming week, before heading back out on the road for their second-to-last road trip of the season.
