We’re two months away from the Major League Baseball Trade Deadline. And while it’s easy to wish the Colorado Rockies would make some significant moves that will immediately help improve the club, that’s likely not going to happen.

Instead, the Rockies are going to undoubtedly be sellers at the trade deadline this year. It all just depends on how far they’re willing to go.

Colorado has already fired manager Bud Black this season, and has made a ton of roster moves along the way. So wild swings in decision making seem to be the norm nowadays in the Mile High City, and that could include the upcoming trade deadline.

If Colorado were to really go all out and unload key players from the big league roster in order to gain money and assets for the future, the Rockies certainly have some players that contenders might be interested in. Here three such players that the Rockies may be fielding phone calls about over the next few months.

3. Mickey Moniak

Though the Rockies only signed Moniak a day before the season began, he’s an intriguing player that could be quickly dealt away. Moniak could really bolster a contender’s outfield for several reasons, including his athletic ability in the outfield and his power at the plate. Not even a full-time starter in Colorado, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to see Moniak dealt before the season ends.

2. German Marquez

It’s been a rough go fro Marquez this season. But, he’s still got a live arm and plenty of juice, and that’s always appealing to teams looking for a fifth starter to help them down the stretch of the season. Marquez, getting out of Coors Field, could be the exact candidate for that.

1. Ryan McMahon

McMahon is perhaps the most talked about player when it comes to the trade block. It’s an interesting dynamic because, truthfully, the third basemen is locked in yet another struggling season at the plate. McMahon is hitting just .207 this season, and has already reached the age of 30. However, he’s a Gold Glove winner at third base, he’s got undeniable power, and he’s a veteran who could really be a leader in the clubhouse for a team trying to make a playoff or World Series push in 2025.
