The Colorado Rockies have been on plenty of losing streaks this season. And though they’re playing at home, they’re on another one.
On Wednesday night at Coors Field, the Rockies lost to the Philadelphia Phillies 9-5 as they gave up three homers and the Phillies had double-digit hits for the third straight night.
Colorado rookie Carson Palmquist was rocked for the second straight mark as he gave up 10 hits and back-to-back homers to Bryce Harper and Trea Turner.
The Rockies did respond early with RBIs from Hunter Goodman and Adeal Amador, but it wasn’t enough as the Rockies had 11 hits, which was their best offensive output in almost a week. Goodman, Jordan Beck and Ezequiel Tovar each had two hits,. Nick Martini did as well, but it wasn’t enough as the Rockies fell to 8-41 on the year.
Colorado and Philly will wrap up their series on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Coors Field. German Marquez starts for the Rockies as they try to snap their six-game losing streak.
