It doesn’t happen as often as you’d think, but snow has forced the postponement of a game at Coors Field in Denver.
The Colorado Rockies announced their game against the Washington Nationals tonight has been moved to Sunday night. The game will be a part of a split doubleheader, and will start at 6:10 p.m. M.D.T,
It was exactly one year ago today that a game against the Seattle Mariners was postponed due to a similar snowstorm that swept through the Denver area. The snow hasn’t stuck to the ground this time around, but, Coors Field was blanketed this morning, forcing the club to move the game to Sunday night.
Sunday’s first game is to be played as scheduled, with the first pitch at 1:10 p.m. Separate tickets will be required for each game. The Rockies will unveil their City Connect 2.0 uniforms during the 6:10 p.m. game on Sunday, April 20.
Additionally, Saturday’s first pitch has been moved back one hour from 1:10 p.m. to 2:10 p.m.
Tickets from tonight’s game (dated April 18) are valid for the April 20, 6:10 p.m. game only. Ticket holders who purchased directly from the Colorado Rockies will be contacted via email with additional details. If ticket holders cannot attend the April 20, 6:10 p.m. game, fans will be presented options based upon their purchase methods. In all cases, tickets are good for the makeup game or fans must exercise an online/credit/refund option prior to the first pitch of the rescheduled game, according to a Rockies press release.
Tickets purchased via the secondary market for the April 18 game will only be valid for the rescheduled game. Secondary market customers that cannot attend the rescheduled date should contact the Customer Service Department from which the purchase was made. Secondary market tickets are not valid for exchange at Coors Field or the Rockies Dugout Stores.
Parking lots on Sunday, April 20 will open at 10:30 a.m. Gates A & E will open at 11:00 a.m. and all other gates at 11:30 a.m. for game one, and 5:00 p.m. prior to game two.
The Rockies’ rotation should stay the same with Chase Dollander set to take on MacKenzie Gore on Saturday, followed by Kyle Freeland vs Jake Irvin in Game One on Sunday, and Antonio Senzatela against Brad Lord on Sunday night.
The Rockies (3-15) will then have an off day on Monday before heading to Kansas City for a three-game series with the Royals starting on Tuesday night.
