After an up-and-down day of pitching news, the Colorado Rockies were back on the diamond Monday, and, in what has become a theme in spring training, the Rockies put together another pretty complete game.

In a 8-4 win over the L.A. Angels on Monday afternoon, the Rockies got a great outing from projected starter Ryan Feltner.

One of many Rockies’ pitchers with the spotlight firmly on him, Feltner moved to 2-0 in Cactus League play this spring with a two-plus inning, two strikeout performance. Despite giving up a homerun, Feltner handed the bullpen a 4-1 lead. And while the Rockies did surrender three late runs, they still put together a soliid pitching performance for the second straight day.

Between Feltner’s outing, and really good relief moments from Tanner Gordon and closer-to-be Victor Vodnik, it is becoming obvious that, on a daily basis, Rockies’ pitching appears up to the task.

And we know Colorado can hit. On Monday, Colorado had 11 hits, and got an explloosive day from younng standout Jordan Beck. The 23-year-old, who will be on Colorado’s opening day roster, went 3-for-4 with four RBI’s and a homer. Sean Bouchard also went 4-for-4, while Adeal Adeal Amador had a big hit for the third straight game. It’s players like Beck, Amador and so many others that are starting to show why Colorado’s depth and talent is so much better than it has been in years.

That talent will be on display again on Tuesday when the Rockies (8-3) host the Reds at Salt River Fields. First pitch is set for 1:10 p.m. M.S.T.
