The Colorado Rockies showed plenty of heart in their latest game at Coors Field. Heart though, wasn’t enough to end their most recent loosing streak.

Having lost six straight games, most of which were blowouts, the Rockies found themselves trailing San Diego 5-0 in the third inning on Friday night. Ultimately, they’d be down 12-1, and the misery was continuing.

From there however, the Rockies showed signs of what could be eight runs in the final three innings and nearly came all the way back, in what ended up being a 13-9 loss to the division rival Padres.

Colorado’s offense produced a season-high 16 hits, as Ryan McMahon, Micheal Toglia and Jordan Beck homered, and Kyle Farmer, Hunter Goodman and Adeal Aamdor each had extra-base hits in a wild game, that also saw the Rockies surrender 16 hits to the Padres. Nine of those hits and eight runs came on starter Antonio Senzatela as the Rockies had yet another rough outing their starting pitching. Despite scoring nine runs, the Rockies still struggled to get runners in, as they were 4-for-16 in RISP on Friday night.

And while Colorado showed plenty of fight on Friday night, the Rockies still fell to 6-32 and are now on a seven-game losing streak,

Colorado will meet San Diego again on Saturday at Coors Field. Bradley Blalock gets the nod for the Rockies with first pitch set for 6:10 p.m. M.D.T.
