The regular season is a week old. And for the Colorado Rockies, it hasn’t been good. It’s also certainly left more questions then answers as the season moved forward.
And one of the big questions coming into 2025 was, who will be some of the returning faces to step up and help the Rockies be better? Because after all, that’s the goal.
Well, the jury is still out on the answer to that question, but, there are a couple of players that the Rockies and their fans have, or are likely losing their patience with. After all, when you’re a losing franchise like the Rockies have been in recent times, they just can’t afford to wait around forever before guys come around. And through one full week of regular season play, there’s several Rockies that fit into that category.
Below are three such players the Rockies have, or are losing their patience with.
3. Jordan Beck
The Rockies didn’t wait long to punch the clock on Beck, and the decision was easy. Zac Veen had been tearing the cover off the ball in AAA, while Beck was floundering in Colorado. He was well below .200 and had left a ton of men on base when he was at the plate. And that comes on the heels of Beck struggling a season ago. So while the book isn’t closed on Beck in Colorado, for now, he’s out of chances until he proves otherwise.

2. Angel Chivilli
Talented yes. But Chivilli just hasn’t been able to get out of his own way when he’s been asked to handle middle relief duties. In four games, he has a brutal 16.99 ERA, and two blown leads. To be fair Chivilli might as well be any other middle reliever on the roster right now, but, the spotlight is on him as he’s been in some crucial situations already, and he has not delivered. And with the Rockies already showing they aren’t afraid to call youngsters up, Chivilli needs to turn things around in a hurry.
1. Kris Bryant
No surprise here. Rockies’ fans have been losing patience with Bryant for years. And while his under .200 battling average and lackluster bat speed are reasons for fans to bail on him, what they’re really annoyed with is, he’s only DH’ing and he’s already needed two off days. For a guy that said all spring how healthy he was, two off days in the first week will tend to annoy fans. And it epitomizes Bryant’s plight in Colorado.
