If the Colorado Rockies are going to get things jump-started, they’re going to have to do it against another very good team.

After being swept by the Reds over the weekend, the Rockies fell to 4-23 on the season, and now have to turn around and face the Atlanta Braves for three games at Coors Field.

Tonight’s game starts at 6:40 p.m. M.D.T. and features Ryan Feltner (0-1, 3.86 ERA) against Bryce Elder (901, 5.57 ERA). The Braves have struggled out of the gate, but, the Rockies have struggled even more, so the Braves will be heavily favored in the series.

German Marquez will go for the Rockies on Tuesday, in another 6:10 p.m. M.D.T. start time. Marquez recently reached 1,000 career strikeouts, but has also struggled yo a 0-4 record with a 9.4 ERA.

In the final game of the series, which starts at 1:10 p.m. M.D.T. on Wednesday at Coors Field, the Rockies will start Chase Dollander, who has not pitched well in his last two starts, against veteran Chris Sale for the Braves.

Colorado meanwhile, will look to a beleaguered offense to also get going, but, it won’t be easy as injuries pile up, and the Rockies are riding another six-game losing streak.

Colorado has been hitting more homers as of late, but, the Rockies still strike out too much and can’t get men in scoring position in. And turning that around against strong Braves pitching will be tough to do.

The Rockies also must go out the road following the series with the Braves, as they play three games at the red-hot Giants this weekend. So holding serve at home will be huge as April turns to may.
