Thanks to a grand slam homerun, the Colorado Rockies have now begun another losing streak.
On Saturday afternoon in San Francisco, the Rockies dropped a 6-3 decision to the Giants as Matt Chapman his a grand slam in the sixth to overcome a 3-2 Rockies lead.
The bomb came off Jordan Bird, who had been pitching lights out for the Rockies out of the bullpen, and it also ruined a strong showing by Bradley Blalock, who allowed just two hits in 5.1 innings, while striking out four.
The Rockies had been trailing 1-0 into the sixth when the bats came alive as Hunter Goodman drove in Jordan Beck, Ryan McMahon had already singled in Brenton Doyle, and Kyle Farmer added an RBI as well.

But, as good as it was to have a lead, that all went away in the bottom half of the inning in what was yet another gut-wrenching loss for the Rockies.
Farmer paced a struggling Colorado offense with two hits, but, the Rockies did leave six on base and were just 3-for-7 with runners in scoring position. Those two stats have haunted Colorado all year and they did again on Saturday.
The Rockies, who are now 6-27 and are 16.5 games out of first in the N.L. West, will close out the four-game set in San Francisco on Sunday at 2:05 p.m. M.D.T. at Oracle Park. German Marquez starts for the Rox.
