The multi-positioned prospect made several plays in the field and even showcased his arm after bobbling a ball at shortstop hit by D'Backs Ryan Waldschmidt.

He appeared to have taken his eye off the ball for a split second as it popped into the air, checking the runner going to third, before eventually gunning down the runner at first.

Colorado showcased their speed and base running in the bottom of the fourth when former D'Backs outfielder Jake McCarthy led off with a single.

After McCarthy swiped second base successfully—something Colorado wants to do more of this season—Carrigg showed off his hitting tools, lacing a 3-2 fastball over left fielder Waldschmidt's head for an effortless triple that tied the game at one apiece.

Carrigg went 1-for-2 before Chad Stevens replaced him in the sixth inning.

A couple news and notes from the 3-2 loss to Arizona

Rockies starting pitcher Antonio Senzatela, who recently earned a chance to reclaim his rotation spot from manager Warren Schaeffer, pitched two full innings while allowing three hits and one run.

The lone blemish was the solo home run he gave up to former teammate Nolan Arenado, a hanging slider left up and away that was sent over the fence in left field.

Colorado managed just three hits all afternoon, two of which came from McCarthy and Carrigg in the two-run fourth inning.

Rockies No. 12 prospect according to MLB.com, Sean Sullivan, struck out the side in his lone inning of work. Juan Mejia also punched out two batters in the third inning.

Rockies No. 2 prospect according to MLB.com, Charlie Condon, got hit by a pitch in the bottom of the 8th in his only plate appearance Friday afternoon.

More on Carrigg. Colorado's prospect will suit up for Team Israel in the upcoming World Baseball Classic, which kicks off March 5.
