For the third time this season, the Colorado Rockies had a game postponed due to weather. And therefore, the Rockies will get an extra day of rest.
Colorado’s series’ opener against Detroit, set for Tuesday night at Coors Field, was postponed due to heavy rains that are moving through the Denver area.
The game will be made up as part of a traditional doubleheader on Thursday, approximately 30 minutes following the end of the regularly scheduled game which is set for 1:10 p.m. M.D.T.
The Rockies are scheduled to meet the Tigers Wednesday night at 6:40 p.m. M.D.T. at Coors Field. The rain is supposed to finally end in the Denver area around 12 p.m. Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Chase Dollander will face Jackson Jobe, while Thursday’s Game One will feature Kyle Freeland against Casey Mize. Thursday’s Game Two’s pitching matchup is yet to be determined for either team.
After the Rockies host the Tigers, they remain home to host the San Diego Padres over the weekend.

It will be made up on Thursday 5/8 as part of a traditional doubleheader. Game 1 will start at 1:10pm and Game 2 will start approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1.
