It’s finally happened. The Colorado Rockies have finally won consecutive games.

On their fifth try this season, the Rockies were able to back up a victory with a second one when they beat the San Francisco Giants 4-3 Tuesday night in San Francisco. It was also the Rockies’ first win against an N.L. West opponent this season.

After trailing 1-0 early in the first, the Rockies rebounded with an RBI by Brenton Doyle, but agains fell behind in the sixth, as they trailed 3-1. But, also for the first time this season, the Rockies put together a rally, a rally started by Ryan McMahon’s homer run in the seventh. The Rockies added two more runs in the eighth. Big hits from Jordan Beck and Hunter Goodman pushed the Rockies over the top, too.

From there, Zach Agnos picked up his second save which gave Angel Chivilli his first win. Kyle Freeland started the game, and pitched well. He also broke the Rockies' record for the most career starts by a pitcher with 207.

The Rockies still didn’t manage a ton of offense, as they had just four hits. But, they did drive in runs, and got two hits from Doyle and Alan Trejo.

The win improved Colorado to 6-25. The Rockies and Giants will meet again Friday at 8:45 p.m. M.D.T. as Antonio Senzatela quarts off against Robbie Ray.

Here’s three takes from Thursday’s Rockies’ win.

  • Have the Rockies found their closer?

There hasn’t been many save opportunities in Colorado this season, but, Zach Agnos has made the most of his. The rookie pitcher from East Carolina is now 2-fo-2 after completing a perfect inning against the Giants on Thursday. Seth Halvorsen and Tyler Kinley have also been given a shot to close this season, but, Agnos is trying to prove he’s the man.

  • The first win in the west

Thursday night was also big for the Rockies because it was their first win this season against the N.L. West. Colorado had been 0-6 on that front, but, the Rockies handed the Giants just their 13th loss of the season. The Giants are currently in second place in the division.

  • Doyle and McMahon coming around?

It was the second straight multi-hit game from Brenton Doyle after a long drought. He was 2-for-4 with an RBI, while McMahon broke out of a long hitless streak with this third homer fo the season. Colorado desperately needs those two to break out, and stay hot.
