The Colorado Rockies are in Pittsburgh to take on the Pittsburgh Pirates in the first of a three-game series and a seven-game road trip to Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. to face the Washington Nationals.

Overall, the Rockies (19-21) and the Pirates (16-24) should have good weather for fans throughout the entire series.

Pittsburgh weather for Monday, May 23

Today, the PNC Park weather will be clear for the Colorado Rockies and Pittsburgh Pirates. At game time (6:35 PM E.T./4:35 PM M.T.), it will be cloudy but a zero percent chance of rain, according to The Weather Channel. It will be in the mid-60s with a slight wind of five miles per hour or less that will blow from left to right field.

When the game ends, temperatures should be in the low 60s.

For the Rockies, they will send former Pirates pitcher Chad Kuhl (3-2, 3.86 ERA in seven starts) to the mound. The Pirates will oppose with J.T. Brubaker (0-4, 5.50 ERA in eight starts), who was their Opening Day starter.

Pittsburgh weather for Tuesday, May 24

The PNC Park weather will be warmer on Tuesday for the Colorado Rockies and Pittsburgh Pirates than on Monday.

At game time (at 6:35 PM E.T./4:35 PM M.T. again), it will be mostly cloudy with a temperature of 70 degrees. The chance of rain is less than five percent and winds will be blowing in from center field at about 10 MPH.

As the game develops, the sun should start to peak out more but the temperatures will tumble down to the low 60s after the sun sets, just after 8:30 PM E.T.

The Rockies will send their Opening Day starter Kyle Freeland (1-4, 4.85 ERA in eight starts) to the mound. The Pirates haven’t officially announced their starter, as of early Monday morning, but it looks like it will be Roansy Contreras (1-0, 3.52 ERA in 7 2/3 IP in relief).

Contreras was sent down to Triple-A a few weeks ago to stretch out his arm to become a starter and the Pirates will reportedly call him up for the game (but, again, it’s not official, as of this publication).

Pittsburgh weather for Wednesday, May 25

The PNC Park weather should be best for the Rockies and Pirates on Wednesday when they play a 12:35 PM E.T./10:35 AM M.T. game to wrap up the series.

Highs will reach 75 degrees with partly cloudy skies with winds blowing in from center field at 10 to 15 MPH. The chance of rain is less than 10 percent in the day but towards the end of the game, the chance of rain goes up to 30 percent.

The Rockies have yet to announce their starter for Wednesday (they could do a bullpen game too) and the Pirates will counter with Zach Thompson (2-4, 4.88 ERA in eight games/seven starts).
