With Opening Day at the end of the week and a few moves made on Monday, the initial 28-man roster for the Colorado Rockies appears to have taken shape.

Here is the likely 2022 Opening Day roster for the Colorado Rockies

On Monday, the Colorado Rockies announced that pitcher Peter Lambert was heading to the 10-day injured list with right forearm inflammation. In other news involving a potential Rockies starting pitcher, Ryan Rolison was placed on the 60-day injured list with a left shoulder strain.

The move involving Rolison opened up a spot on the 40-man roster, which the Rockies used to select the contract of left-hander Ty Blach, a graduate of Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora and a pitcher who faced the Rockies on a regular basis when he was with the San Francisco Giants before undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2020. Blach, who last pitched in an MLB game in 2019, was inked to a minor league deal during the lockout.

So Blach will join the Rockies bullpen, but who else will be a part of the Opening Day 28-man roster? As a reminder, with the MLB lockout cutting into previously scheduled spring training time, MLB rosters will be at 28 through May 1, then will return to 26 (unless there is a double-header, in which one man will be added for that day).

Also, even though we are close to Opening Day, additional changes could still happen between now and Friday.
