The Major League Baseball lockout may still be in effect, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of rumors and thoughts involving the Colorado Rockies swirling around.

Trevor Story rumors, Colorado Rockies outfield trade talk, and more in our latest podcast

On this edition of the Rox Pile Rockies Report podcast, we take a look at the growing discussion around Trevor Story and the Seattle Mariners. Did the Mariners make an offer to Story before the lockout with the hopes of not only bringing him to the Pacific Northwest, but also to changing his defensive position as well? Could the Mariners slot Story in at third base in place of Kyle Seager, or could Seattle potentially use him in the outfield as well?

What would the addition of Story mean to the Mariners as they try to keep up with the retooled Texas Rangers and the defending American League champion Houston Astros in their own division?

Speaking of Seattle, we take a look at a trade proposal floated out there by our colleagues at SoDoMojo.com, a site covering the Mariners. Would a swap of Garrett Hampson be worth two prospects (a pitcher and an outfielder) coming back to the Rockies? Would it be worth it for the Rockies, knowing there is a logjam in the Colorado outfield and the Rockies could well be active after the lockout to add another bat into the outfield mix? We discuss the logjam and what, if anything, might be done.

We also touch upon a recent article with a potential thought of a trade between the Rockies and the Cleveland Guardians involving another Colorado outfielder, Raimel Tapia. Could it be a reality, and what other teams might need an outfielder like Tapia this offseason? We dive into the possibilities.
