In the first set of betting odds released after the 2021 World Series, the Colorado Rockies are among the longest of long shots to win the 2022 World Series.

What are the odds for the Colorado Rockies winning the 2022 World Series?

Our partners at WynnBET show that only three teams have longer odds than the Rockies to win the next Fall Classic. Check out the odds below.

What is the best news in these odds? The Rockies are still favored to win the World Series ahead of two other National League teams, including NL West rival Arizona. Hey, it’s not much, but it’s the shiniest silver lining we can find.

So what is the worst news in these odds? Colorado’s three other division rivals have much better chances to win it all, including the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants, both coming off 100-plus-win seasons in 2021. The San Diego Padres, surprisingly, have the third-best odds of any team to win the World Series, and that comes after a collapse in the second half of 2021 that saw the Padres finish with a 79-83 record. As we discussed on our most recent podcast, will the hiring of Bob Melvin as manager be enough to push the Padres to the top?

Certainly these are the initial odds of the offseason, and there are plenty of player moves coming before the regular season kicks off on March 31 (a slate that includes the Rockies visiting the Dodgers to kick off the campaign). And Colorado is expected to be among the teams with numerous player moves (especially with the futures of Trevor Story and Jon Gray up in the air). So, yes, you can also expect plenty of movements in these odds as the offseason goes along.
