San Diego Padres — Jake Cronenworth

2021 slash line against Colorado: .368/.419/.735 with an OPS of 1.154 (25-for-68 at the plate)

Career against Colorado: .351/.402/.711 with an OPS of 1.113 (97 at-bats)

Move over, Wil Myers. There’s a new terror lurking for the Colorado Rockies in San Diego.

Cronenworth debuted to open the pandemic-shortened 2020 season and has quickly found that he likes to hit against the Rockies in his very young career.

Jake Cronenworth of the San Diego Padres flashed plenty of power against the Colorado Rockies in 2021

Cronenworth blasted five homers against the Rockies this season, including an eighth-inning, two-run shot off Colorado reliever Daniel Bard that cemented a 3-0 Padres win in San Diego on July 29. The win would put the Padres at 61-45 for the season before plummeting to the earth the final two full months of the year and finishing with a 79-83 mark.

While the Padres struggled against the Rockies in 2021 (going 8-11), Cronenworth certainly did not. And while names like Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Myers may draw more eyerolls from Colorado fans, it was Cronenworth who did the damage last season.
