CHICAGO- Both Kevin Henry and I are here in Chicago as the Colorado Rockies are taking on the Chicago Cubs in the second of a three-game series at Wrigley Field.

Before the first game of the series, Kevin Henry caught up with former Rockies TV reporter and current Cubs TV reporter Taylor McGregor. McGregor is the daughter of the late Rockies team president, Keli McGregor. He is the namesake for the new area just south of Coors Field is named McGregor Square.

Kevin spoke with her about McGregor Square and what people should know about her dad as well as some other Rockies and Cubs stuff as well for the most recent episode of the Rox Pile Rockies Report.

We also discuss the Colorado Rockies bullpen implosion on Monday against the Chicago Cubs.

The Colorado Rockies had a bullpen implosion on Monday night as they allowed five runs in 2 1/3 innings along with four hits and three walks.

All three walks came from Jhoulys Chacin. Chacin, who had been on a great stretch of pitching (1.02 ERA in his previous 14 games), was great in the first inning of work that he had but then had 12 straight balls to start his second inning of work to load the bases. Carlos Estévez inherited the bases loaded, nobody out jam and allowed all three inherited runners to score to tie the game and squander Antonio Senzatela’s six-inning start in which he only allowed one run.

In the podcast, we talk about that and how, before Sunday, the Rockies bullpen had actually pitched really well in the month of August but they have faltered in each of the last two games. We also talk about the Rockies offense in the first inning on Monday and how it faltered as well as Bud Black’s comments on the game.
