Rockies National League Pennant Odds

BetOnline.Ag (+8000)
Fanduel (+8000)
Draftkings (+7000)

These odds of 80-to-1 actually hold more value than where they stood in February (50-to-1 then). Not like you would have been able to legally bet on that in Colorado in February, but because you had to wait you will actually win MORE money if the Rockies completely outperform everyone’s expectations.

Now do I think the Rockies will win the Pennant? Probably not. It’s going to be so rough trying to outpace the Dodgers and I have a hard time seeing them getting past a team like the Atlanta Braves. Against most other teams in the NL, I think they’d have a shot (given that they perform to their abilities), but it’s going to take a team effort on par with the 2018 season to see them get there. 2020 is likely going to be a completely random season, though, so stranger things can happen.

But if something unlikely is going to happen, wouldn’t you want some better odds for a better payout?

Rockies World Series Odds

Fanduel (+16000)
DraftKings (+12500)

Now here’s where you wanna have some fun. The offseason plus quarantine has meant you’re getting a ton more value on this line. In October it was as low as 25-to-1. It jumped up to 100-to-1 in early February (did anything major happen with the Rockies between October and February?) and got as wide as 220-to-1 in some places (Fanduel right before the season resuming was announced). Now the odds with the best value are 160-to-1 at Fanduel and every Rockies fan should throw a little something on them.

Do I think they’re going to win the World Series? No. There’s no data that supports that and it’s going to take an incredible sequence of events to have this happen. But the shortened season is only going to increase variability and if the Rockies get hot at the right moment that may be all they (or anyone else) truly need. And it’s 2020. Things are only going to get stranger from here on out so why not, right?
