Ross is another San Diego Padre that the Rockies should think about considering. If they don’t think about Clayton Richard, Tyson Ross is someone they should seriously consider. Once again, we have another consistent pitcher that can have strong starts that lead to good outings. His ERA (3.51) is the ideal one you’d like to see pitchers of his caliber have.

Ross has a 5-4 record in his 13 starts. He also averages about 6 innings per outing, which is something the Rockies have not been seeing much of lately. He is on pace for an even 200 innings this season. His start on May 23 really shows what he can do when Ross really has his stuff going.

He pitched 6.2 innings only giving up one run to the Washington Nationals. He only walked one batter while striking out 9. Tyson Ross currently has 82 innings pitched with 82 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.195. He’s a solid guy once he gets into a groove and that could be beneficial to the Rockies.

In his past seven starts, he is 3-1 with an ERA of 3.35.

Pros: Veteran pitcher (9 seasons in MLB), has strong consistent starts, possible difference maker in the rotation

Cons: Can slip up while on the mound, recently came back from injury
