What if Ryan McMahon fails?
Of course, I’d say something super pessimistic right now. As of now, we do not know what their lineup will consistently look like, though I’d say McMahon has a strong chance of being in it on a consistent basis. The first base position has been a big question mark but after the Rockies roster moves, it appears that McMahon has the job.
He got plenty of starts during Spring Training, which gave us all the idea of him being the starting first baseman. However, towards the end of the Spring Training, Ian Desmond had been starting at first. If the he does get the nod for today’s game, eyes will be watching as this season McMahon will most likely be getting into more games. With that comes the 50/50 split of either him excelling/meeting expectations or being a complete mess up and burning out. Harsh words, I know but we have to face the fact that either could occur.
