Colorado Rockies: Charlie Blackmon in national spotlight with ESPN
It can be argued that Charlie Blackmon of the Colorado Rockies is perhaps one of Major League Baseball’s best-kept secrets. Despite All-Star credentials and an MVP-caliber season in 2017, there are many people outside the Mountain time zone who might not know exactly who Chuck Nazty is. Well, that anonymity could very well change over the next couple of days.
Blackmon, Colorado’s All-Star center fielder, is currently on a media tour of New York and Bristol, Conn., doing a number of radio and television appearances with ESPN. Additionally, in one of the more awesome pictures you will ever see, Chuck Nazty even had some time on Tuesday to take in the New York Stock Exchange.
As a reminder, Blackmon made Major League Baseball history last season with his performance from the leadoff position. He finished with a .331 average (second in MLB to only Houston’s Jose Altuve) with 37 home runs and 114 RBI in addition to an OPS of 1.000. He ended the season as MLB’s leader in runs scored (137), hits (213) and triples (14).
However, Blackmon is not only a rare find on the field. His personality and wit make him one of the most sought-after Rockies when it comes to interviews. Now, the world will get a taste of what makes Charlie Blackmon one of the most interesting players in baseball, on and off the field.
Following are Blackmon’s scheduled appearances on ESPN and some of the network’s subsidiaries. All times listed below are Eastern time.
