For game two, I would probably go with Chad Bettis. He started off well in his return to the rotation after chemotherapy but he has not pitched well in his past four starts. He hasn’t gone more than 5 1/3 innings in any of the starts and, in that span, he has an ERA of 7.08 (not a typo) with a .289 opponent batting average.

Game 3

If the Rockies get to a game four, Jon Gray would be on regular rest. You have to go with him in this instance.

Game 4

In game 4, I would have to go with Tyler Chatwood. Going with him may shock you (heck, it shocks me) but as much as he may not be able to give Rockies manager Bud Black a lot of length, results are results. Since August 9, he has made eight appearances (two starts). He has gone 17 2/3 innings in that span and he has allowed just three runs (1.53 ERA) and a .258 opponent batting average.

I planned on going with Kyle Freeland but I can’t. He has really struggled in his past three starts (due in part to injuries). He hasn’t gone further than four innings in any of the starts but he has only gone 10 1/3 innings. His other numbers are not good.
