On Sunday, the probable starters will be Zack Godley and Antonio Senzatela. Godley has been an unsung rotation hero as he is 6-7 with a 3.29 ERA in 20 starts. He made six starts in August and he went 2-3 with a 3.89 ERA with a .258 opponent batting average. He hasn’t been as sharp, though, in his last three August starts as he went 1-2 with a 5.51 ERA with a .292 batting average.

Senzatela is 10-5 with a 4.68 ERA. In the month of August, he made seven appearances but only three were starts. He had an ERA of 3.97 and a .276 opponent batting average. However, his last two appearances have each been starts and he has not done well. He is 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA and a .395 opponent batting average.

The Diamondbacks hot streak

The Diamondbacks just completed a three-game series with the Los Angeles Dodgers at home and they just swept them. It was the first time that the Dodgers were swept all season long. With the sweep, they have won seven straight games. During that stretch, the Diamondbacks have scored nearly six runs a game with a .286/.355/.531 offensive slash line.

In that span, the pitching staff has an ERA of 2.29 (16 earned runs). The Rockies are obviously hoping to turn this around as they are 3 1/2 games back of the D’Backs for the first wildcard so this series is of vital importance if they want gain home field advantage for the wild card game.
