Colorado Rockies: July 14 minor league report and prospect update

Short Season A Boise Hawks ( 15-13, Northwest League – South)

Thus far into their season, the Boise Hawks are holding their own. Tied for first in the NL South, Boise leads the league in home runs, paced by left fielder Daniel Jipping who not only has back-to-back three hit games but leads the team with eight dingers. First baseman Sean Bouchard is a prospect worth keeping an eye on as he has six multi-hit games over his last 10.

Rookie Grand Junction Rockies (10-14, Pioneer League – South)

Top 2017 draft pick Ryan Vilade is performing in the rookie league. Through 14 games, Vilade is hitting a solid .320 with four home runs. On the mound, pitcher Jeffri Ocando is now 3-0 on the short season with a 3.81 ERA. Second baseman Shael Mendoza is hitting a very impressive .404 over 20 games played. Currently the GJ Rockies are third in the pioneer league.
