Advanced-A Lancaster JetHawks (11-13, Second in California League – South)

Lancaster posted a 4-3 week, scoring an astounding 51 times. The best news from this week is that Rockies’ top prospect and MLB.com’s #13 overall prospect Brendan Rodgers made his 2017 debut. So far, Rodgers is 8-for-25 in six games played, with three doubles and four RBI. Rodgers’ best performance came on Friday night when he went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

Cather Hamlet Marte had the best individual week. In just three games played, Marte collected six hits, two home runs (one of which was a walk-off), and five RBI in 14 at-bats. Marte is now hitting .400 in 9 games played in 2017.

On the pitching side of things, starter Craig Schlitter threw six innings of one-run ball this week. As a result, Schlitter sits at a 1.50 ERA in 24 innings this season.

A 2015 second-round draftee, Peter Lambert scuffled this week as he surrendered 10 earned runs in 11 innings. On a positive note for Lambert, he did strike out a career-high 10 batters in a April 24th loss.

Also notable is the performance of right-fielder Yonathan Daza. Daza went 8-for-20 on the week and now has a .415 average over his last 10 games.
