The 10 Players Who Tormented the Colorado Rockies in 2016
You know, there are just certain players who seem to haunt the Colorado Rockies, game after game after game. You can probably think of a few right off the top of your head. For me, Matt Kemp and Paul Goldschmidt come quickly to mind.
Yes, much like Nolan Arenado always seems to plague the San Francisco Giants, there are certain players who always hit or pitch well against the Rockies.
Now that the 2016 season is in the rearview mirror, I wanted to take a look at who were the true arch-enemies of the Rockies this season. Some of the numbers surprised me as neither Kemp nor Goldschmidt made the list. Of course, that doesn’t mean they still didn’t torment the Rockies this season at times. They were plenty close to making the list.
To make the list, players had to have at least 10 plate appearances against the Rockies this season. Yes, that means that some American League players were just as likely to make the list as their National League counterparts … and some did.
